4. Normative requirements for the execution of structures from cold-formed products

At European level, the requirements for the execution of steel structures in general, and those made from cold-formed products in particular, are covered by European standards EN 14782, EN 14783 and EN 1090-2 (see . Compliance with these standards is a prerequisite for CE marking.

The first two standards define the terminology, requirements and test methods for ribbed sheets used for dry roofing and waterproofing. The 3rd standard applies to structures calculated in accordance with the appropriate part of NF EN 1993. For cold-formed elements, this is Part 1-3, designated NF EN 1993-1-3. In particular, it covers :

  • execution classes ;

  • standards for steels used in cold forming ;

  • thickness tolerances ;
