Covered car parks - Regulations

Several specific texts regulate covered parking lots, depending on their type.

This is the case of the annexed parks:

• residential buildings: modified order of January 31, 1986;

• establishments open to the public (adaptation of ICPE heading 2935);

• high-rise buildings (technical instruction appended to the interministerial circular of March 3, 1975);

• office buildings with a height of over 8 m and less than or equal to 28 m (adaptation of ICPE heading no. 2935).

For parking lots with a capacity of more than 250 vehicles but less than or equal to 1,000 vehicles, the declaration procedure and the prefectoral decree issued on the basis of standard decree no. 2935 (formerly standard decree 331 bis) apply.

Above 1,000 vehicles, the authorization procedure and the prefectoral decree issued on a case-by-case basis by the ICPE (installations classées pour la protection de l'environnement) apply.
