18. Obligations of owners, operators and occupants

18.1 Checks

Owners, builders and installers are each responsible for ensuring, during construction and subsequent refurbishments, that the equipment complies with these specifications at the time of installation.

Operators keep safety installations and equipment in good working order.

To this end, they have the following equipment periodically checked by an approved body or a competent technician:

• every 6 months :

  • elevators

• every year :

  • electricity

  • lighting

  • extinguishing systems and fire safety systems
