ABSTRACT
For a construction to be feasible from a drawing, it is necessary to produce a complete and accurate graphic description of the shapes and contours, this is the role of the standard views, as well as a detailed description and figures of the essential dimensions, this is the role of the dimensioning. The various participants in the construction process must find on the document all the information they need. In this article, it is a question of recalling the standards in force to identify the various principles of quotation allowing to produce documents comprehensible of any body of state.

INTRODUCTION
In France, the principles of dimensioning construction drawings are standardized. Dimensions clearly define a component, structure or construction. They are expressed in SI units and positioned by dimension and attachment lines.
Marker lines can also link a drawing element to a piece of information.
Circumferences, chords and arcs, angles and sectors and inclinations all require special dimensioning graphics.
The dimension value is positioned for easy reading, and can be quoted in series, parallel, Cartesian or polar coordinates.
Levels and bare levels are subject to a specific rating system.
