2. Comparison between standard and condensing boilers

2.1 Latent heat recovery

  • Latent heat removed by flue gases

    With a conventional atmospheric boiler, a significant proportion of the so-called latent heat is evacuated by the flue gases, causing the temperature of the combustion products to rise sharply, to around 150°C.

  • Recovered latent heat

    The use of a condensing gas boiler recovers a very large proportion of this latent heat; this energy recovery has the effect of considerably reducing the temperature of the combustion gases, while limiting polluting gas emissions.
