7. Grain-oriented plates and standardization
The market for grain-oriented laminations is global. In this context, their commercial properties are governed by a standard established by the International Electrotechnical Committee (IEC). A standard also exists at European level, drawn up by the ECISS, and adapted at national level by the French standardization system (AFNOR – UTE). Products are classified according to a defined nomenclature, and materials' properties of use are defined by standardized characterization methods.
7.1 Parts list
In European standard EN 10107 or international standard IEC 60404-8-7, grades are classified according to the value of the maximum specific total loss in watts per kilogram and according to the nominal thickness of the product (0.23 mm, 0.27 mm, 0.30 mm and 0.35 mm)....
