4. Properties and advantages of low-voltage networks with insulated conductors
LV networks with insulated conductors offer many advantages over lines with bare conductors.
Voltage drops are reduced thanks to the low value of the linear reactance (0.1 Ω/km instead of 0.35 Ω/km).

Service quality is improved because :
insulated cores are protected from accidental contact with foreign bodies;
operations are easier to handle, especially when working at live voltages;
in the event of support or suspension fuse failure, the network is temporarily maintained in operation.
