3. Determining a support silhouette

3.1 General

The arrangement of conductors (ribbon, triangle, etc.) and the number of circuits being fixed a priori, the silhouette of the tower is determined by its height and the distances between conductors and ground and between cables (cf. ).

Knowing these distances and the arrangement of the conductors, it is possible to determine the free space to be left around each conductor. A balancing outline is then drawn up, with the chain and its equipment in the extreme positions corresponding to the various hypotheses, and circles with radii equal to the distance to the ground (with wind and without wind), centered on the outline of the parts under tension.
