Small antennas are often natural extensions of feeder lines, so it's worth briefly reviewing the main types (table 1 ).

1.2 Dipôle

The dipole is the most widely used type of antenna. It's simple to build: usually a linear conductor half-wavelength long or less.

In fact, dipoles are the only conceivable antennas when wavelengths become long.
