2.1 Helmholtz's superposition theorem

This theorem simply expresses the linearity of the circuit. The response (voltage or current in a branch) of a circuit containing several independent sources is equal to the sum of the responses (voltage or current in the branch under consideration) corresponding to each source, the other sources being switched off (short-circuited voltage source and open-circuited current source). An example is given when demonstrating Thévenin's theorem in paragraph 2.3.
