1. Boolean algebra and Boolean functions

1.1 Properties

Boolean algebra is defined on the space E 2 consisting of the elements {0, 1}. There is a relation of order 0 < 1 and three basic operations. Complementation is an application of E 2 on E 2 . The operations union (still called "or", "max") which is denoted + and intersection (still called "and", "min") which is denoted · are applications of E 2 × E 2 ® E 2 .
