4. Frequency response

Here, the frequency response of voltage amplifiers will be described in relation to temporal issues such as rise/fall times and dynamic stability. The gain G V of a voltage amplifier depends on frequency. It depends mainly on two parameters: the voltage gain in the passband G V0 and the cutoff frequency f C . This section shows how to establish the gain-bandwidth product, GBW, of a voltage amplifier.

For educational purposes, the frequency responses shown (on a log-log scale) are not the actual curves. The asymptotic curves are the most interesting, as they clearly show the asymptotic changes in direction caused by the poles or zeros of the transfer functions.
