 INTRODUCTION

The development of electronic circuit technologies has led to considerable growth in digital signal processing. These processing techniques use signals that can be modeled in the form of pulse sequences.

These signals transit either between electronic macrocircuits, or within an integrated circuit itself on a propagation channel that can usually be modeled as a two-wire line.

The study of signal propagation on such structures is essential for understanding the phenomena observed, and for designing these "digital" circuits.

This article presents results concerning the propagation of impulse signals on lossless and lossy lines. Also discussed are the problems posed by coupling between propagation lines (crosstalk) and by the design of pulse transformers.
