1. ATSC system (8-VSB)
This is the system used in the United States. The synoptic diagram is shown in figure 1 .
The system is a suite of equipment that adapts the baseband signals output by the MPEG-2 transport multiplexer to the terrestrial transmission channel.
The following processing is applied to the data stream:
multiplex adaptation and patching ;
Reed Solomon;
external interlacing ;
internal coding ;
synchronization and drivers ;
AM modulation;
Nyquist filtering ;
8-VSB transmission....
