1. EVF for gesture training

EVFs have been widely used for training executive skills (chaining together simple tasks to achieve a goal). In this case, gesture precision is not essential, which means that EVFs can be developed relatively quickly and inexpensively.

But capturing and analyzing a professional gesture requires more complex virtual tools (motion sensors, analysis of the gesture in relation to the referent gesture), which are more costly and have long remained the domain of research. What's more, the acceptance of such virtual tools in disciplines with a high level of manual expertise is, even today, complex. This calls for a global redefinition of pedagogy involving all players (trainers, learners, instructional and technical designers).
