4. Learner follow-up

The equipment described in the previous chapter is a virtual environment in which professional skills can be practiced in complete safety. It is only really a VLE when it is accompanied by a tool for individualized monitoring of the learner's progress. In our case, this tool is called VULCAN LMS. LMS (Learning Management System) is a generic term for digital learning tracking tools, widely deployed via web technologies. The aim of the VULCAN project is to provide a comprehensive environment for monitoring a learner's training in a training workshop. In particular, it integrates face-to-face monitoring of each learner, and the integration of digital software resources (third-party applications, presentations, etc.) and hardware (touch screens, information screens, trainer's tablet, workstation information terminals).
