5. Experiment

The EVF we are presenting is based first and foremost on gesture modeling, the relevance of which then had to be validated as a multimodal resource: qualitative experimentation in two AFPA training centers.

We carried out a didactic analysis of gestures in companies and training centers. In real work situations, using identical verbal instructions for four types of actor: learner, trainer, employee and expert employee, we shot 16 films which were analyzed through cross-confrontation interviews. The material collected was processed within the project team until consensus was reached on all the scenarios involved in designing the prototype. This work was carried out within a small professional community made up of five trainers, assisted by a training engineer and a Masters student in educational sciences who defended her dissertation on the subject.
