2. Ten years of standardization

At the turn of the year 2000, there were very few standards on the subject of archiving. These included the American standard DoD5015, the first version of which dates back to 1997, and the French standard NF Z42-013, the first version of which dates back to 1999.

The ten years that followed saw a whole range of standards on electronic archiving and digital preservation, sometimes in no particular order, with a few redundancies and a few gaps, but, despite everything, a fairly solid arsenal of standards to help project managers confronted with the challenges of electronic archiving.
