4. Ecodesign of a biosolvent

The need has arisen to develop effective tools and methodologies for solvent substitution. These methods, which are available to researchers and manufacturers, enable satisfactory results to be achieved, while respecting an eco-design approach.

4.1 Methodologies for the substitution of toxic solvents

Solvent substitution consists in improving the functionality of an existing product, generally involving the associated processes, to provide environmental, technological and economic benefits.
