CPC is a chromatographic technique which, when implemented, is more akin to liquid-liquid extraction on a column (without trays or packing) [J 2 760] . Indeed, each partition cell can be likened to a small column whose stationary phase and mobile phase are the continuous phase and dispersed phase respectively.
