 INTRODUCTION

Characterization of electrode processes provides the theoretical basis for interpretation and prediction of electrolysis effects, depending on the operating conditions: choice of electrolytes (solvent and reagents) and electrode materials, values of imposed electrical voltage between electrodes or of electrolysis current flowing through the cell (with its direction of flow). The aim of this article is to show, with the help of case studies, how this interpretation and prediction are carried out, from which control of the electrolysis cell's operation is derived.
