2. Optimal integration of a PSA cycle into its pressure environment
As PSA N 2 and VSA O 2 operate at pressures respectively chosen and optimized in relation to the need for air gas separation, these units are generally employed at their optimum pressures. As far as the hydrogen PSA application is concerned, its pressure environment can vary greatly depending on the PSA's immediate surroundings.
For example, in refinery or petrochemical applications, the pressure of the PSA unit must generally be integrated with the pressure of the surrounding units, to limit the need for additional investment in interface rotating machinery (compressors, blowers, turbines, etc.).
