2. Principles of visual observation

  • General comments

    Many observers have noted that :

    • the eye is more sensitive to a difference in chromaticity than to a difference in clarity;

    • the most sensitive element in a gap is the DH* (shade change);

    • the closer the samples are to the center of the surface, the more demanding the observers. Conversely, if the samples are pure (bright), observers are more tolerant.
