2. Characteristic values

The characteristic quantities of commercially available nanofiltration membranes have been grouped into 8 groups. These are :

  • 1 - supply, specifying manufacturer, brand and membrane code;

  • 2 - structural properties, which indicate the nature of the active layer;

  • 3 - physico-chemical properties, which include cut-off values, rejection rate and the type of compound used for measurement;

  • 4 - transfer properties, which only include flow density to water;

  • 5 - mechanical properties, giving maximum or recommended working pressure;

  • 6 - the outfit, which indicates the temperature and pH of the environment;

  • 7 - the type of module produced and its model...
