2. Experimental devices

A large number of methods have been proposed for determining the surface tension of liquids over a wide temperature range. We present here just a few of the methods that are most frequently used to obtain accurate measurements. We discuss their merits and shortcomings, and give a few references that can be consulted for further details.

2.1 Capillary rise method
