8. Reinforcement of soft floors and deformable substrates

The injection technique is well known. It consists of injecting a grout from above, the formulation, injection pressure and quantity of which depend on the nature of the soil and the problem to be treated: reduction of porosity, reinforcement of mechanical performance, etc.

Lime, in its hydrated form, is used in the composition of some of these grouts, in the same way as cements or fly ash.

  • When you want to clean up an area that's too damp, you can also use quicklime wells, which draw excess water from the soil to hydrate.

    Example

    A number of projects have been carried out using wells with diameters of 10 to 15 cm, spaced 50 to 70 cm apart and 1 m deep, under a railroad line, and 7 m deep...
