 INTRODUCTION

The evolution of humanity is closely linked to the development of energy resources, reflected in an almost exponential increase in global energy consumption, which was dependent on GDP growth until the first oil crisis in 1974.

Since the early 1980s, constraints linked to the rational use of energy have led to the optimization of energy systems. Added to this are the ecological and sustainable development requirements that emerged in the early 1990s.

The field of energy engineering is therefore an important component of the engineer's scientific field. The rising cost of energy, increasing technical complexity and the proliferation of unsteady problems have given particular importance to the treatment of building thermics. The building sector is France's biggest energy consumer, accounting on average for 45% of total consumption.

The aim of this section is to contribute to the analysis of phenomena and the choice of appropriate mathematical formalism, a field in which engineers excel.
