6. Conclusion

This article summarizes the main procedures for calculating, dimensioning and justifying geotechnical structures in accordance with Eurocode 7 and French application standards. Precise calculation details can be found in each of these standards for :

• shallow foundations ;

• deep foundations ;

• retaining screens ;

• anchors and retaining walls.

This article does not cover the basics of geotechnical design according to Eurocode 7 on its own, but provides an initial introduction.
