5. Dimensioning retaining walls – Standard NF P 94-281

5.1 Application

Standard NF P 94-281 applies in addition to Eurocode 7 for the calculation and dimensioning of retaining walls that do not support buildings or bridges. In such cases, reference should be made to the appropriate standards, depending on whether the retaining wall foundation is shallow or deep.

Like the calculation of retaining walls, retaining walls were not subject to a specific normative document. However, a few documents have been used to identify common calculation procedures (notably the SETRA fascicules and the old Mur 73 regulations).
