3. Deburring - Finishing

After shot-blasting, the parts must be separated from the casting systems and feeders.

3.1 Demasseling

In the case of gray cast-iron parts, the feeders and weights usually break on the vibratory grids, thanks to the breakage initiators provided at the connections to the parts.

For resistant alloys, such as GS cast irons and steels, debottlenecking does not occur naturally. We can therefore :

  • separating jets, casts and inertia blocks by breaking them with a sledgehammer, an operation that is sometimes painful and rather difficult;

  • break them in assemblies installed on hydraulic presses;

  • cut them with a disc saw;
