To deal with this aspect of the evolution of energy requirements for the various processes and branches of the steel industry and, above all, with prospective aspects, we will base ourselves :

• on the one hand, on the development of the most important processes in steel production, particularly those that consume the most energy;

• the most recent IISI studies .
