5. Pollution and environmental protection

During the metallurgical processing of lead, the pollution created by this activity is linked to the toxicity of this metal and its companions in the concentrates, foremost among which is arsenic.

It is above all the volatility of these metals in the form of sulfides, oxides and oxysulfates, found in dust that is difficult to settle, that is the primary cause of serious biological reactions depending on Pb and As levels.
