Rolling stand
A basic component of a rolling mill, it is equipped with two (or even three) grooved cylinders that reduce the cross-section of the rolled product.
Yield
Difference between the distance between the cylinders before the bar passes through and during the passage of the bar due to rolling forces.
Rolling descent (or calibration diagram); Pass design
Document defining the sequence of grooves (and their settings) used on the different cages of a rolling mill to obtain the various finished products from the semi-finished product.
Empoise; Roll chocks
Bearings (usually 2) supporting the rolling cylinders.
