13. Conclusion

Unalloyed titanium (known as "CP" or "commercially pure") and titanium alloys offer excellent corrosion resistance in a wide range of environments, particularly chloride environments.

This behaviour is governed by the presence of an oxide on the surface, which is very stable, and by the conservation of this oxide or its renewal in the medium according to the principles set out in paragraph 2
