Magnet molecules: a recent field of investigation

Molecular-scale control of the magnetic properties of matter is a huge challenge for the scientific community. It originally concerned chemists interested in the magnetic properties of metals with non-zero oxidation states. The study of these complexes or networks containing metal cations laid the foundations of magnetochemistry. Magneto-structural correlations, i.e. relationships between the structure of matter and its magnetic properties, were established.
