Conclusion

After carding, the flow of fibers at the outlet of each machine, whether it is a draw frame, combing machine, spindle frame, or continuous spinning machine, is continuous. However, it consists of clusters, or successive bundles of fibers. These clusters are fundamental because the regularity, i.e., the quality of the yarn obtained, is directly related to their size, i.e., the number of fibers they contain, and their position in the flow.

The size of the clusters depends on the characteristics of the raw material, namely the fibers, entering the spinning process after carding, but also on the process itself, the type of draw rollers on the machines (smooth or grooved, hard or soft), the number of machines or passes, and the draw values.
