4. Conversion calculations

Controlling pollutant emissions is particularly important when it comes to validating the choice of processes, and it is essential to check results regularly by means of on-site measurements. While there are many different analyzers available, for reliable comparisons it is important to express the values obtained in stable units, taking into account the measurement conditions. This section therefore presents the main units of measurement and presentation of results, the corrections made to enable measurements to be compared, and the calculation methods used to present results at national level and make cross-industry comparisons.
