2. Identify the requirements of the chemicals you use with SDSs and other information from suppliers
Collect the safety data sheets (SDS) for raw materials and finished products likely to have an impact on your site's discharges. You will find the following information:
Section 8.1 gives PNEC values for the relevant environmental compartments and emission limit values for national regulations.
Section 8.2.2. gives recommendations for pollution prevention.
Where applicable, the relevant legislation is indicated in paragraph 15.1.
If your SDS includes an exposure scenario, it must specify the conditions of use leading to a release that does not exceed the PNEC (Predicted no Effect Concentration): this may include the type of process, efficiency criteria and permissible production flows depending on the receiving environment.
