4. Assessing available risk management resources

For each situation described in steps 1 to 3 above :

• Establish the existing measures that can play a role in chemical risk prevention: ventilation of premises, hygiene, storage, equipment safety (valves, air extraction, etc.).

• List the collective protection equipment available, its operation and condition.

• Note the organizational measures in force at this workstation: staff training, safety instructions, type of PPE provided.

When you have access to technical data enabling you to qualify the performance of these control devices, make a note of them too: extraction rates, air renewal rates, PPE characteristics or standards, results of existing controls.
