7.1 Distinguish between reliable methods and reliable information
It's important to distinguish between reliable methods and reliable information.
Reliability is the inherent quality of a test report or publication concerning a preferably standardized methodology and the way in which the experimental procedure and results are described to provide evidence of the clarity and plausibility of the findings. In fact, GLP guarantees the quality of the methodology followed, which is important, but it does not guarantee the scientific quality of the results, which depends on the competence of the experimenters.
What's more, much existing data may have been produced before GLP requirements and method standardization came into force.
