1. Identify the substance

The OHB (Occupational Hazard Band) method deals solely with health risks. It uses an MMR (risk management measure) criticality grid. The OHB method is a simplified semi-quantitative method based on the hazard statements of the CLP regulation ( règlement n° 1272/2008 du 16 décembre 2008 ).

The first step is to define a hazard level based on the information available on the substance.

So the first thing to do is to look for all the information you need, and first of all :

  • the name of the substance, IUPAC name ;

  • its identifiers: CAS n°, CE n° ;

  • information on any impurities ;

  • ...
