3. The assessment

The registration dossiers submitted by registrants are subject to various assessments:

  • Completeness check, performed automatically via REACH-IT: the dossier is rejected if it is incomplete.

  • Evaluation of testing proposals: ECHA then informs the registrant whether they must carry out the proposed test, modify it, or not carry out any test.

  • Dossier compliance check: This check covers 5% of dossiers and may only cover certain parts of the dossier. ECHA may request additional information from the registrant.

In addition, substances may be subject to evaluation by the competent authorities of a Member State.
