5. What information should be included in a job description?

From an operational point of view, the summary of a function definition can be as follows:

  • hierarchy ;

  • delegation ;

  • profile ;

  • main tasks ;

  • internal and/or external relations ;

  • authorizations.

At the very least, they should include the headings "Profile" and "Main duties". Other headings may only appear if really necessary in large organizations, or for functions with "high responsibilities", for example (the "just necessary" rule).
