3. Why validate a function definition?

In general, job descriptions are one of the "deliverables" of the process managed by the Human Resources function.

The criteria set out in ISO 9001:2008 chapter 4.2 concern the review and approval of the relevance and appropriateness of document creation and updating. To comply with these requirements, it is recommended that the process owner validates each function definition before formalizing it, to ensure consistency with :

  • the set of function definitions ;

  • in particular employment contracts;

  • and even internal regulations and charters (e.g. IT) where they exist;

  • and, in general, current labor legislation.
