Failure

Alteration or cessation of an assembly's ability to perform its required function(s) with the performance defined in the technical specifications.

CMMS

Computer-aided maintenance management: preventive maintenance based on monitoring the operation of the asset and/or significant parameters of this operation, integrating the resulting actions.

Maintenance

All technical, administrative and management actions during the life cycle of an asset, intended to maintain or restore it to a state in which it can perform the required function.

Conditional maintenance

Preventive maintenance based on monitoring the operation of the asset and/or significant operating parameters, including the resulting actions.
