5.1 What the standard says
Consistent, predictable results are achieved more effectively and efficiently when activities are understood and managed as interrelated processes operating as a coherent system.
Previous versions of the ISO 9000 standards included an additional principle: management by system approach. The system approach enables a global approach from the needs and expectations of interested parties to the response to these requirements. This principle has now been integrated into the process approach.
