8. Glossary

Chemical product or agent

Any chemical element or compound, either as such or in a preparation, as it occurs in the natural state or as it is produced, used or released, in particular in the form of waste, as a result of a professional activity, whether or not it is intentionally produced and whether or not it is placed on the market.

Chemical substance

By substances we mean chemical elements and their compounds as they occur in the natural state or as they are obtained by any production process, possibly containing any additives necessary to preserve the stability of the product and any impurities resulting from the process, excluding any solvent which can be separated without affecting the stability of the substance or modifying its composition.
