8. Glossary

Waste

Any substance or object, or more generally any movable property, which the holder disposes of or intends or is obliged to dispose of.

Disposal

Waste is not recovered, even when the operation has the secondary consequence of recovering substances, materials, products or energy.

Recycling

Waste is recovered by reprocessing substances, materials or products for their original function or for other purposes.

Reuse

The substances, materials or products of the waste are used again.

Valuation

The waste must serve a useful purpose as a substitute for other substances, materials or products that would have been used for a particular purpose, or the waste must be prepared...
