1. Understanding the concept of waste

Identifying your waste management obligations is essential, but the first step is to answer the following question: is the object or substance or material or... a waste? And if so, to which category of waste does my waste belong?

The answers to these two questions will enable us to identify your precise responsibilities.

1.1 Waste or non-waste?

Waste is defined as an object or substance whose owner wishes to dispose of it. Taking the example of a rag soiled with grease, if the producer of the waste wishes to dispose of it by incineration, for example, it is waste. On the other hand, if the soiled rag is washed for reuse, it is no longer considered waste. It should be noted that the notion of waste also varies according to the holder...
