Nicolas REBERT: Project Manager, Convis
INTRODUCTION
Since regulations stipulate that the producer of a waste product is responsible for it until its final disposal, the company has a duty to ensure that the channel used complies with regulatory requirements.
When subcontracting waste management, the first step is to identify the most suitable treatment method for each waste item, by drawing up an inventory. The compliance of service providers must be verified (approvals, authorizations), as well as effective traceability (BSD, collection slip).
Efficient waste management is therefore only possible if the company has carried out an exhaustive inventory of its waste, determined a channel associated with each type of waste, ensured the conformity of the channel used, and ensured that waste collection and disposal are carried out in accordance with the applicable regulatory requirements.
